Losman signs with UFL team

Former Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman has signed a contract with the Las Vegas franchise in the UFL.

A first-round draft pick out of Tulane in 2004, Losman immediately becomes the most notable player in the league.

Losman said that the UFL is allowing him to play the sport he loves at a high level and he is excited to get onto the field.

I’m sure he is hoping that a solid performance in the league will give him a chance to land another contract with an NFL team.

Kelsay’s job on the line

Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay knows that his job is far from secure after a disappointing 2008 season.

After signing a significant contract, Kelsay managed just 4.5 sacks and didn’t take much of the pressure off of Aaron Schobel.

The team responded by selecting defensive end Aaron Maybe in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.
Kelsay knows he is going to need to make a statement in training camp and during the season to fend off the hungry rookie.

Edwards must show leadership skills

The last time I talked about Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards, I said he needed to work making the right throws if he wants to remain with the team over the long haul.

The other thing Edwards must improve is his leadership skills, and there is no time better than the present.

With Terrell Owens now in the folk, Edwards is going to get a crash course in the importance of leadership.

The quarterback is going to need to put up with his antics while trying to keep Owens and the other wideouts happy. That’s not an easy task.

Edwards needs to step up

Heading into 2009, one thing is clear in Buffalo: It’s now put up or shut up time for two key members.

Head coach Dick Jauron is on the hot seat for his inability to get the Bills into the playoffs and will likely lose his job if they fall short again.

Quarterback Trent Edwards is on the hot seat for the same reason, as well as his erratic play last year.

Edwards made poor decisions and poor throws that cost his team dearly and made him gun-shy. Now he has to prove those were the mistakes of an inexperienced quarterback growing into a franchise-type player.

Bills not looking to add more games in Toronto

The Buffalo Bills are playing two of their home games in Toronto this year, but don’t expect that number to increase anytime soon.

The team said they have no interest in tacking on future home games in Toronto for upcoming seasons.

The Bills made the decision to play a couple of games north of the border to help broaden their fanbase.

Buffalo has experience rough times and a decreasing population, so it has become important for the team to try and reach potential fans on the outskirts of the city.
