The Buffalo Bills have hired Chan Gailey as their new head coach.
Gailey coached the Dallas Cowboys for two forgettable seasons in the late 90’s before he was fired.
He did lead the team to an 18-14 record over those two seasons, and owner Jerry Jones has admitted it was a mistake to fire him.
He later became the head coach at Georgia Tech, only to get suddenly fired out of nowhere just a couple years ago.
Gailey said that he doesn’t just hope that his team can win football games, but believes it and knows it.

The Buffalo Bills have had a secret meeting with Bill Cowher over the team’s expected head coaching vacancy, a job that will become available at the end of the season.
Many around the league feel that Cowher is ready to transition back to being an NFL coach after spending a few years out of the game as an analyst for The NFL Today on CBS.
Speculation has been that Cowher will land with his hometown Carolina Panthers, but the organization has already informed John Fox and his staff that they will return next season.
The Bills would be a surprise landing spot given how far Buffalo is from his home in Carolina and the lack of talent on the team. Most feel Cowher would want to go to a team where he could win from the start.
The Bills had initially pursued Mike Shanahan until realizing that he was going to wind up with the Washington Redskins. They have also shown interest of late in Brian Billick.

The Buffalo Bills have fired their entire coaching staff, including interim head coach Perry Fewell.
The firings come as no surprise despite the team’s big win over the Indianapolis Colts in the season finale.
Buffalo never had much success on either side of the ball this year, though it is worth noting that they never seemed to give up.
The Bills are expected to talk to Brian Billick and already had a secret meeting with Bill Cowher.
One player who will likely not be back next year with the new coaching staff is wideout Terrell Owens.

The Buffalo Bills took advantage of a meaningless game for the Indianapolis Colts to end the season with a 30-7 win.
The Colts played most of their starters for the first quarter or so before removing them from the game.
The game was played in near blizzard conditions as heavy snow quickly piled up on the playing surface.
Wide receiver Terrell Owens scored on a long touchdown in what was likely his final game in Buffalo.
For interim head coach Perry Fewell, it was a good way to go out at the end of his short head coaching career.

Former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick is expected to talk to the Buffalo Bills about what will likely be their head coaching vacancy after the season ends.
The Bills fired head coach Dick Jauron during the middle of the season and promoted Perry Fewell as interim head coach. The Bills have struggled under Fewell and will likely go in a different direction after the season.
The Bills were pursuing Mike Shanahan hard for quite awhile but seem resigned to the fact that he will likely end up as the next head coach of the Washington Redskins.
Billick has been out of football the past two years after being fired by the Ravens. He is, however, still collecting his full paycheck from the team, which is why he has stayed out of the coaching carousel.
It would be somewhat surprising to see Billick take the Buffalo job because of his ties to the Maryland area and the team’s lack of talent, but crazier things have happened before.

The Buffalo Bills turned in an embarassing road performance in a 31-3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Buffalo has seemingly thrown in the towel on their season, and it’s not surprising with that type of offense.
The Bills secondary has at least been a strong point this season, but injuries have really hurt the pass defense down the stretch.
Wide receiver Roddy White had his way with the Bills cornerbacks, hauling in two touchdown passes.
I’m not the general manager in Buffalo, but I can assure you that interim head coach Perry Fewell will not be earning the full-time job.
